UCT invitationals 2007

The annual UCT invitational Tournament held on UCT campus on 12 May 2007 has been won by Rob Garlick and Dean Peters.

The teams who broke to the final were:
Dave Watson and Emma Webber (UCT)
James Wink and Amy Armstrong (UCT)
Rob Garlick and Dean Peters (UCT)
Claire Hawkridge and Izelle Coetzee (USDV)

Three rounds were held before final and the final motion was THW institute a constituency-based electoral system in South Africa.

The CA for the tournament was Jon Hodgeson of UCT.

US Pan-Pacific Debate Championship 2007

You are cordially invited to attend the Pan-Pacific Championship Debate Tournament, October 27-28, 2007.

The event will be hosted by Hawai Pacific University in Honolulu. The tournament is open to US and international colleges and universities.

The tournament features six preliminary debates and semi-final elimination debates. The event will feature the relaxing and magnificently luxurious tropical style of Honolulu, the beautiful site and facilities and friendly welcoming atmosphere of Hawai Pacific University and the tournament management prowess and amenities of Claremont McKenna College.

The top performing team will be designated as the Pan Pacific Champion. The top performing US team will be designated as US champion.

Registration for the tournament begins on Wednesday, August 1, 2007.Places will be allocated in order of registration date and time. Please consider registering early.
