International Debate Tournament in Poland

Dear all,

We would like to invite you to the third edition of the International Debate Tournament in Katowice, Poland.

The event will take place on the 13-15 June 2008 in Katowice - a picturesque city in southern Poland, 80km away from Cracow. The tournament is organized by the Afish Association, Young Conservatives and the Regional Institute in Katowice.

The competition's preliminary rounds will be run in the British Parliamentary format, switching to American Parliamentary for the elims. The prize for winning the tournament, apart from a nice cup, will be an internship in the European Parliament.

For the contestants we will provide transport from the Katowice-Pyrzowice airport and the railway station in Katowice, accommodation in a 4* hotel in the city center as well as 3 meals a day.

The participation fee is 25 Euros for debaters, judges can participate free of charge.

The team cap is 28 (n-1 rule applies)

NTU have won the 2008 Asian Universities Debating Championships hosted by IIUM.

AUDC hosts for 2009 and 2010 decided

East West University of Bangladesh have won the the bid to host AUDC 2009 in South Asia for the 1st time.

College of Saint Banilde also won the bid to host AUDC 2010. CSB's bid will be confirmed in the next union meeting in Bangladesh if the union is satisfied with the progress of their work.
